1Theater Creation | SixTONES formed here on May 1, 2015

Illustration of two women looking up through Hibiya’s trees at the tiled building that houses Theatre Creation

Theater Creation is a theater of about 600 seats in Tokyo’s Hibiya theater district. It opened in 2007 on the former site of Geijutsu-za, where the play Hourouki was performed for many years. The stage and seats are close together, so the performance feels near from every seat.

On May 1, 2015, during a performance of Johnny’s Ginza 2015 at the theater, the formation of a new unit of six members—Taiga Kyomoto, Yugo Kochi, Jesse, Juri Tanaka, Hokuto Matsumura, and Shintaro Morimoto—was announced. The six had played classmates in the 2012 drama Shiritsu Bakaleya Koukou and were known to fans as the Bakaleya group. Oricon reported that the members had directly petitioned the agency to approve their group.

The group name combines ‘Six Tones,’ representing each of the six members’ distinct tones, and ‘Six Stones,’ meaning rough gemstones before they are polished. After forming, they produced music videos and released videos on YouTube at an unprecedented pace for a Junior group, and became the first Johnny’s group selected for YouTube’s artist promotion campaign.

At the August 8, 2019 Tokyo Dome concert, the first standalone appearance by Johnny’s Jr. in 19 years, 330 Juniors from East and West performed, including 11 units. During the show, the screen announced that SixTONES and Snow Man would debut simultaneously. Jesse also shared that the group had gone through periods when fans left and when they worried whether they could fill the seats on tour.

Four years later, from April 21 to 23, 2023, SixTONES performed here for ‘Kansei no Housoku in DOME.’ It was an additional set of shows following the arena tour Kansei no Housoku. On April 21, YOSHIKI, who wrote their debut song, made a surprise appearance. The final show on April 23 became a video release, issued November 1.

From April 20 to 22, 2024, they held the final show of their first four-dome tour, VVS, which drew a total of 515,000 people. During the April 22 encore, they premiered ‘Neiro.’ From January 24 to 27, 2025, the first four days of their five-dome tour, YOUNG OLD, drew 615,000 people. The January 27 concert was released as a video.

Ajinomoto Stadium in Chofu is about a five-minute walk from Tobitakyu Station on the Keio Line. On September 19 and 20, 2026, SixTONES held their first stadium concerts here. Both shows began at 5:30 p.m.

The MILESixTONES arena tour, from January through June, spanned 50 concerts in 11 cities, the largest scale in the group’s history. The stadium tour under the same name began at Ajinomoto Stadium and continues to Osaka and Yokohama in November. The tour shares its name with their first best-of album, MILESixTONES -Best Tracks-, released January 21. The arena tour traveled from Fukuoka to Sendai, Aichi, Chiba, Osaka, Yokohama, Shizuoka, Kagawa, Niigata, and Sapporo before ending in Okinawa. During that run, the single ‘Ichibyo / Rebellion’ came out March 18, followed by ‘Dance Forever / My Only’ on September 9.

4Yokohama Arena | Tours opened here on January 4 in 2020, 2022, and 2023

North of Shin-Yokohama Station, Yokohama Arena is a venue where SixTONES have repeatedly opened tours at the start of the year. Just before their debut, the TrackONE -IMPACT- arena tour began here on January 4, 2020. The tour spanned their January 22 debut, and the seven shows from January 4 to 7 were also their final performances as Johnny’s Jr. The January 7 concert was included in the group’s first live video release.

The following year’s on eST tour was also scheduled to begin at Yokohama Arena on January 4. Due to the COVID-19 state of emergency, the opening show switched to a livestream without an audience shortly before the event. The Yokohama shows with an audience were held in June. The June 7 show became a video release, and the group announced the release of their single ‘Mascara’ at the Yokohama concert.

Their Feel da CITY tour in 2022 and Kansei no Housoku tour in 2023 also opened here on January 4. Feel da CITY was the first tour after their debut that they completed across all scheduled shows; the January 6 Yokohama concert was included in the video release.

From March 25 to 29, 2026, they held five concerts here as part of the MILESixTONES arena tour. The March 26 concert will be released as a live video on November 4.

5Enoshima Shrine | A shrine visited on all six members’ Fortune Trip 2025

Illustration of a woman in a blue-green skirt walking toward Enoshima Shrine’s Hetsumiya, with its patinated green roof and karahafu gable

Climb the approach on Enoshima and you’ll reach a vermilion torii and stone steps. This is Enoshima Shrine, visited by SixTONES in their 2025 official YouTube series Fortune Trip. Episode 3, released March 28, shows all six praying, choosing amulets, and drawing fortunes. Unlike a visit for a concert, the island was chosen as the destination for their group trip.

The official description says it was the six members’ first time on Enoshima together. They walk partway and also use the Enoshima Escar, a set of escalators. The visit does not end with a flat walk along the approach; the conversation continues as they move up and down the island. Even without knowing which songs they performed at a venue, one video explains why the place itself is worth visiting.

Enoshima Shrine has three shrines—Hetsumiya, Nakatsumiya, and Okutsumiya—which visitors can visit in sequence along the island’s slope. Hetsumiya is at the top of the stone steps beyond the vermilion torii. It is said to have been founded in 1206 by Minamoto no Sanetomo to pray for the prosperity of the Kamakura shogunate; the current shrine building was reconstructed in 1675. Fujisawa City’s visitor guide also explains that prayers are mainly offered at this shrine.

After watching the video, walk the route yourself and notice the distance from the approach into the shrine grounds and the moments you stop to catch your breath. The fortunes shown are from the filming. Rather than drawing fortunes repeatedly to match the six members’ results, make your own single draw part of your trip’s memory.

The Escar is a paid uphill aid; it does not carry visitors downhill on the return. Wear suitable shoes and check which sections it serves and how you will return. At the prayer area and amulet office, give priority to the queue over taking photos. Share the island’s scenery and the memory of the members’ conversations with people who visit for worship every day.

6Kaisaku, Enoshima | Seafood meal after worship, with a seating arrangement specific to filming

Illustration of Enoshima Kaisaku’s storefront, with a row of horizontal windows and a red-orange awning

Beyond the Enoshima Benten Bridge is Kaisaku, a seafood restaurant. SixTONES ate here in the final episode of Fortune Trip 2025, released April 4, 2025. After visiting the shrine, each of the six chose a dish they wanted. The person who ordered the restaurant’s best-selling dish had to pay for everyone.

In the official video, the table gets livelier as each dish arrives. Individual food preferences and the game to decide who pays unfold at the same time, leaving a memory of the six members’ interactions that a food photo alone cannot convey. Watch it alongside the Enoshima Shrine episode to see how their island trip ended with all six sharing a meal at one table.

Before visiting, know how the seating and dishes are related. On April 5, the restaurant’s official X account explained that filming used the second-floor seating, but dishes from the first-floor menu were specially served there. Ordinarily, the second floor cannot order dishes from the first-floor menu. The restaurant does not take reservations for first-floor seats, while reservations for seating only are available for the second floor. The restaurant added this information so viewers would not expect the same conditions as in the video.

Your choice depends on whether you want to sit on the same floor as the members or try food like what appeared in the video. First, check the current menu and decide which floor and meal work for you. There is no guarantee you can use the same seats as in the video. Check the restaurant’s current instructions about reservations and seating preferences.

The official menu includes seafood bowls, set meals, grilled dishes, and more. Items change with the season and seafood supply, so dishes and prices shown in 2025 should not be treated as the current menu. Enjoy the dishes available that day at the restaurant where all six stopped. That alone can connect the travel show to your own meal.

7Togetsukyo Bridge | Riverside start of the Kyoto trip before their CD debut

Illustration looking across the river and riverside stones toward Togetsukyo Bridge and Arashiyama

With the Arashiyama mountains behind it, Togetsukyo Bridge crosses the Katsura River. The official video Kyoto Drive Trip Vol. 1, released in November 2019, begins on the riverbank with the six members standing where the bridge is visible. It was a Kyoto trip shortly before their CD debut the following January. See the six, who would later perform in major domes, introduce themselves beneath the open sky at a tourist destination.

Look for the landscape the members shared at the start of the video. The width of the river, the low bridge stretching across it, and the mountains behind them make the brief introductions feel rooted in Kyoto. Unlike indoor concert footage, the video includes the wind and light, with the atmosphere of the trip in the pauses between words. The location is connected with the opening of the official video even though there is no sign or monument marking the group’s visit.

The video then continues as a series of drives to different locations. The full itinerary is not clustered around the bridge. Kurumazaki Shrine and Rokusei, which also appear in the Kyoto episodes, are separate places the six visited that day rather than one walking route. Even if you stop at only one place during a trip to Kyoto, you can make a scene from the video part of your own memory.

Togetsukyo Bridge is used by pedestrians and vehicles. When taking photos, do not block the walkway; view it from a place along the river where walking is allowed. Trying to line up six people just as they did during filming could block others in a narrow area. Instead, enjoy finding a view of the landscape in the direction they saw it, from a place where you can safely stand.

8Kurumazaki Shrine | The six dedicated a Tamagaki before their debut

Illustration of two women looking up at Geino Shrine and the stone torii inside Kurumazaki Shrine

Near Kurumazaki-jinja Station on the Randen, a tree-shaded shrine grounds awaits visitors. This is Kurumazaki Shrine, which SixTONES visited in Kyoto Drive Trip Vol. 1. At about 5:50 in the official video, the entrance sign appears; around 6:35, the six dedicate a Tamagaki together ahead of their CD debut. The video records the six giving a shared form to their hopes for success.

The shrine grounds include Geino Shrine, dedicated to the protection of performing arts, with rows of vermilion Tamagaki. Geino Shrine is a sub-shrine within Kurumazaki Shrine. Seeing the grounds as the place where the six prayed and made their dedication before their debut connects the location with the video.

There are conditions for Tamagaki that you cannot learn from past videos alone. The shrine’s current official guidance says displays remain for two years after application. The fact that the members dedicated one in 2019 does not mean that it is still in the same place today. Not finding their names does not mean you are at the wrong shrine; dedications here are subject to renewal.

Only the person being honored or an officially authorized representative may apply to dedicate a Tamagaki. Fans are not permitted to make a dedication on behalf of a celebrity. The shrine also says that it is fine to pray for a favorite’s success or make an offering at a prayer service. You can express your support in ways available to you as a visitor.

Compare the 2019 Kyoto episodes with the 2025 Enoshima episodes and you can see how the group’s position changed, even though both involve shrine visits. In Kyoto, the six were on the verge of their CD debut; on Enoshima, they had already spent years working as musicians. The pleasure in visiting both places is not about measuring their success, but remembering from these locations how they continued taking trips together and talking across the years.

9Rokusei, Kyoto Cuisine | The teoke bento they shared before a Kyoto concert

Illustration of two women walking past Rokusei’s tiled roof, latticework, and roadside shrubs

Rokusei is a Kyoto cuisine restaurant in Okazaki, north of the canal. It is known for teoke bento, dishes served in a round wooden tub. The restaurant’s official website says SixTONES visited before their 2019 concert at ROHM Theatre Kyoto, and mentions the YouTube video. It is a place to eat from the Kyoto trip that the local restaurant itself records as a SixTONES visit.

The restaurant also specifies that the six had the Tsuki teoke course. You do not need to search for a similar bento based only on the name of the serving dish. This record identifies the course they had on that visit, but the dishes change by season, so it does not guarantee all the same items will be served with a current reservation.

Rokusei was founded in 1899 and began as a catering business. The teoke bento was created when the second-generation owner had the idea to use tubs as serving vessels. It was first offered in 1966; when the restaurant outgrew its space, it moved to its current location in 1977. The distinctive wooden containers seen in the dining video reflect a long history of the restaurant’s creativity.

Taking time to enjoy each dish in its wooden vessel provides a pause in the Kyoto trip, distinct from conversation in the car or while visiting a shrine. Watch the official video Kyoto Drive Trip Vol. 3 alongside the restaurant’s account of the visit to see that the members were spending time together before a concert, not just sightseeing. This is where the six’s day on the way to the stage met the everyday life of a local restaurant.

Lunch is served 11:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m.; dinner is 5:00–9:00 p.m. and requires a reservation. Lunch reservations are accepted through the previous day, but walk-ins may have to wait. Monday is normally the regular closing day, but substitute holidays and other irregular closures may apply. Check the calendar once you know your travel dates. Rokusei is not within easy walking distance of Kurumazaki Shrine, so travel by public transit around Kyoto and secure a time for your meal in advance.

SixTONES, all six members, and the journey from their Junior days

The six from Shiritsu Bakaleya Koukou opened their own path

The six came together on the 2012 Nippon TV drama Shiritsu Bakaleya Koukou. They played classmates and became a popular combination, but did not immediately become an official group. SixTONES formed on May 1, 2015, after the six approached their agency directly.

After forming, they made music videos and posted them on YouTube while they were still Juniors. SixTONES’ JAPONICA STYLE was the first music video produced by Hideaki Takizawa.

Jesse

On the day their debut was announced in 2019, he spoke frankly about a period when fans had left. On the day of their first dome concert, Juri Tanaka and Shintaro Morimoto said SixTONES would not exist without Jesse.

Taiga Kyomoto

He filmed behind the scenes at the 2023 Tokyo Dome concert with his own camera and shared the footage, including a photo with YOSHIKI.

Hokuto Matsumura

He said he saw neither the debut as the ‘start’ nor as the ‘goal,’ but regarded the time the six met as the beginning.

Yugo Kochi

One of the six who have continued together since Shiritsu Bakaleya Koukou. During Kansei no Housoku, he sang ‘La La La Love Story’ with Taiga Kyomoto.

Shintaro Morimoto

On the day of their first solo dome concert, he looked back on opening day with Juri Tanaka on the radio and said it was the best.

Juri Tanaka

He described the first day at Kyocera Dome as a day he had grown considerably as an idol.

‘Imitation Rain,’ the debut song written and produced by YOSHIKI

On January 22, 2020, SixTONES debuted with Imitation Rain / D.D., a double A-side single with Snow Man. The release was through Sony Music Labels. ‘Imitation Rain’ is a rock ballad written, composed, and arranged by YOSHIKI of X Japan.

The music video was released on the official channel on December 24, 2019, before the single came out. According to the official making-of description, it combines dreamlike scenes filmed against a blue screen with CGI, and intense dancing on a set using real water, rain, and flames. The single sold 1.328 million copies in its first week, making it the first debut release in history to exceed one million in its first week. The sales figure is combined with Snow Man’s.

‘Amazing!!!!!!’ music video also filmed at Mito’s former Ashiyama Water Purification Plant

‘Amazing!!!!!!’ is a song created in 2017 during the group’s Junior days. A new music video was made to mark the sixth anniversary of their debut and released on the official channel on December 5, 2025.

Mito City’s film commission notes that part of the video features the former Ashiyama Water Purification Plant. Built in 1932 and operated through 1993, it is now a facility used exclusively for filming movies, television dramas, and music videos. It is not open to the public without permission, so it is not included on the map in this article.

The song was first included as a bonus track on the first-press Type A edition of the best-of album MILESixTONES -Best Tracks-, released January 21, 2026. Five Junior-era songs—‘IN THE STORM,’ ‘Beautiful Life,’ ‘Jungle,’ ‘Night Train,’ and ‘Amazing!!!!!!’—are available together as audio releases. The album’s main program has 24 songs: 18 singles from their debut song through ‘Stargaze,’ lead songs from five albums, and the new song ‘Shine with U.’ The first-press Type A edition includes music videos for all singles and album lead tracks, as well as ‘Amazing!!!!!!.’

Two groups debuted on the same day as Snow Man

At Tokyo Dome on August 8, 2019, SixTONES and Snow Man had their debuts announced together. On January 22, 2020, both groups debuted with singles released by their respective labels, each containing songs by both groups. This was the first simultaneous debut of two groups in Johnny’s history. Snow Man later performed at Nissan Stadium in June 2025. SixTONES’ Nissan Stadium shows are scheduled for November 21 and 22, 2026 and had not taken place as of this article’s publication.

Revisit concerts at each venue through live video releases

Before visiting, you can watch a concert video from that venue. Yokohama Arena shows released on video include TrackONE -IMPACT- on January 7, 2020; on eST on June 7, 2021; and Feel da CITY on January 6, 2022. MILESixTONES from March 26, 2026 is scheduled for release November 4, after this article’s publication. Tokyo Dome releases include Kansei no Housoku in DOME on April 23, 2023; VVS on April 22, 2024; and YOUNG OLD on January 27, 2025.

The album title became the tour title

From 2021 through 2025, SixTONES released an original album every January: 1ST on January 6, 2021; CITY on January 5, 2022; Koe on January 4, 2023; THE VIBES on January 10, 2024; and GOLD on January 15, 2025. The names of the tours that followed each album incorporated its title.

CITY became Feel da CITY, Koe became Kansei no Housoku, and THE VIBES became VVS (pronounced ‘vibes’). In the tour title on eST for 1ST, ‘est’ means delivering the best they can. YOUNG OLD, the tour for GOLD, contains the letters G OLD when written together. January 4, 2023, the release date of Koe, was also the day Kansei no Housoku began at Yokohama Arena.

From their first dome concert to five-dome tours and stadiums

After their first solo dome concert in Kansei no Housoku in DOME in April 2023, SixTONES completed their first four-dome tour, VVS, with 10 shows in 2024. The tour incorporated a live band for the first time, and on May 12 they made their first group appearance at a festival, Gobugobu Festival 2024 in Osaka. Their 2025 YOUNG OLD tour visited five domes for 13 shows, and its video release included the group’s first live-audio CD. In 2026, they completed a 50-show arena tour and began performing at stadiums. Shows in Osaka and Yokohama are scheduled for November.

Field Notes | Business perspective: Distinguishing filming arrangements from regular service

Kaisaku’s announcement that filming took place on the second floor, with first-floor dishes specially served upstairs, helps set expectations for people who visit after seeing the video. Visitors who assumed they could sit in the same place and order the same menu can adjust their meal plans before arriving. It is an example of one notice both welcoming visitors and explaining what the restaurant can offer during normal business hours.

The Tamagaki name boards at Kurumazaki Shrine have a limited display period. Past visit videos can be enjoyed for years, while the items displayed at the site are updated. Pairing an earlier visit record with current visitor information can preserve the memories of filming while guiding fans to a pilgrimage that respects the places still open and operating today.
